About
Welcome to Nando's PERi-PERi - Chicago, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of the Windy City at 117 E Lake St. This vibrant eatery is renowned not just for its succulent grilled chicken but also for its vibrant atmosphere and dedication to flavors that pop. If you are a lover of bold tastes and fresh ingredients, this place should be on your radar.
Upon entering Nando's, you are greeted by a lively ambiance that reflects the essence of its South African-Portuguese roots. The energy is palpable, often drawing in crowds seeking both flavor and a casual dining experience. As one reviewer, Ayaa M, aptly put it, the food here is "fresh and consist[s] of Whole Foods," creating a harmonious balance of both taste and health. Expect to indulge in tantalizing dishes such as their signature whole chicken, seasoned to perfection and grilled to smoky delight.
One standout feature of Nando's Chicago is its variety of PERi-PERi sauces. These artisanal sauces, ranging from mild to fiery, empower diners to personalize their meals in a unique way. Just ask Jonathon Krohn, who described his experience as having his taste buds "kissed by a Portuguese angel." His enthusiasm paints a vivid picture of the culinary magic awaiting you here, one that transforms each bite into an unforgettable experience.
For those looking to enjoy their meal outdoors, the restaurant offers an inviting balcony with views of Michigan Avenue. Imagine savoring a Chicken Burger or a bowl filled with delightful combinations like roasted Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes, all while basking in the bustling vibes of the city. Naz N's visit exemplifies this perfect day out, claiming it to be "one of the best spots to dine."
Furthermore, the service, while "do-it-yourself," is delightfully efficient. As customers like Pe Lin and Sierra Shellabarger have pointed out, the staff is generally helpful and friendly. The convenience of online ordering only enhances the experience, allowing you to focus on the delicious food rather than the usual tipping hassle.

The flavors, friendly service, and joyful atmosphere create a delightful dining experience that you won’t forget anytime soon. Every visit feels like coming home to a celebration of flavor, culture, and community. So come hungry, leave happy, and get ready for a peri-peri adventure at Nando's Chicago!
“ I recently sold my soul (and about fifteen bucks) for a half chicken and chips at Nando’s, and oh my days was it worth it. That chicken wasn’t just seasoned; it was spiritually enlightened. Each bite tasted like it had been kissed by a Portuguese angel with a smoky grill and a dream. The chips? Crispy golden poetry. And Liz. My server, my guide, my peri-peri priestess. She delivered service so good I almost asked her to officiate my wedding. I don’t know what dark culinary sorcery Nando’s is up to, but this is hands-down the best food I’ve ever had. I left the restaurant unbelievably satisfied and counting down the days until my next meal at Nando’s. Every step I take is one step closer to my next Nando’s meal, and every sauce dip is like the first rain on a Savannah after years of drought. ”
“ It’s a 4 stars for this restaurant for me. The staff is nice, the food is good and the atmosphere is fine. But i find it a little bit expensive for the size of the food and my pineapple lemonade wasn’t good at all. ”
“ The best Peri Peri Chicken Bowl I’ve ever had! Well-cooked, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the meal and would definitely recommend it. ”
“ Was very happy to go to Nando’s after not having it for 2 years (I lived in the UK for a while and loved it over there). This location is obviously busy due to the location, but their service still took a very long time to bring the food out. It’s all online ordering which I don’t really like but it did save me from spending extra money on tip. Pro tip— don’t get sucked into tipping because they aren’t actually serving you, it’s just food runners who just bring the plate out you ordered online. The chicken is delicious and I love all the sauces to try. It is very similar to the one in the Uk but I wish they had the chocolate cake ”
“ 1000000000% recommend this place. The food and service were both amazing. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The food was all fresh and consisted of Whole Foods which I loved. I ordered a bowl with chicken , the Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes. The Brussels sprouts were my favorite. Prices are very reasonable ”
“ Great varieties of Chicken and sauces Vaughn was the manager at that time and we were happy with the service and prices and also the premium location. There is an outside seating place. Yes you have to order your own food, yes you get your own cutlery but hey this is best price for best location. During the week it’s less crowded. ”
“ Stopped by Nando’s for lunch and had a good time. Our table was on the outside balcony overlooking Michigan Avenue, and it really was one of the best spots to dine; the view was spectacular. I tried the Chicken Burger and it also tasted amazing. This restaurant is do-it-yourself in terms of service, but I didn’t mind that too much. The food and seating are all that’s needed, and they were worthy of five stars. ”
